Research

I am Research Associate at the Institute of Astronomy, University of Cambridge (2020 to present). I received my PhD in Astrophysics from the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM), Iran in 2016. I have previously held three postdoctoral fellowships; at the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM, Iran, 2016-2018), Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC, in Tenerife, Spain, 2018-2020) and the Department of Physics, University of Oxford (2020-2022).

The main focus of my research (in astronomy and astrophysics) is to study the observational diagnostics of the formation and evolution of bars and bulges in disc galaxies. And, my main technical interests are in medical image analysis, developing astronomical pipelines and data analysis tools, robotic telescopes, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and dealing with complex and extensive datasets. Consequently, I have been involved in various astronomical instrumentation projects such as AF2+WYFFOS, INOLA, WEAVE and 4MOST and Medical data analysis projects such as IMAXT, mainly as the lead senior pipeline/software developer.
