Institute of Astronomy

I am a Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Astronomy, University of Cambridge, where I have been since 2020. I obtained my Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM), Iran, in 2016. Before joining the University of Cambridge, I held three postdoctoral fellowships: at IPM [2016-2018], the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) [2018-2020], and the Department of Physics at the University of Oxford [2020-2022].

I possess extensive experience in medical image analysis, Astronomical and medical data analysis tool development, working with complex and extensive datasets, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and dealing with complex and extensive datasets. I have been involved in several astronomical instrumentation projects, such as AF2+WYFFOS, INOLA, WEAVE, and 4MOST, as well as medical data analysis projects, such as IMAXT, mainly as the lead senior pipeline/software developer. My primary astrophysics-oriented research interest lies in studying the observational diagnostics of the formation and evolution of nearby galaxies.
