Research

Hello world,

My name is Greg (short for Grégoire) Marcel.

I defended my PhD in Astrophysics in october 2018 at the univ. Grenoble Alpes (France), then worked for a bit more than two years at Villanova (PA, USA), and I have since been working at the Institute of Astronomy (Cambridge, UK) for almost two years.

My research has mainly been on black hole X-ray binaries. I specialize at the interface between theory and observations of the accretion flow's structure around the central black hole. My main focus is to understand the outbursting cycles undergone by X-ray binaries.
