I use semi-analytical calculations and numerical simulations to predict the properties of the first generation of stars, black holes and galaxies in the Universe, especially their observational signatures in the context of cosmic structure formation (e.g., gravitational waves from compact object mergers, 21-cm signal from neutral hydrogen and abundance patterns of metal-poor stars). I am particularly interested in what we can learn from these ancient objects about the early Universe and fundamental physics, such as the nature of dark matter, dark energy, gravity and inflation.
