University policy is that all supervisors must be trained and all new supervisors at the IoA are expected to complete An Introduction to Undergraduate Supervision (Problem Sheet-Based Subjects). The course, which takes around 5 hours to complete, includes an face-to-face workshop and two online modules and will help prepare you for the practicalities of supervision, how to give effective feedback, and common issues related to supervising students.
In addition to the University's compusory training, the Part II and Part III/MASt Course Coordinators will offer to schedule a to address the expectations concerning supervising for their respective cohorts. The sessions, open to all supervisors, will be particularly relevant to those who are acting a supervisor for the first time.
