These can be submitted at any time. The exchange visit of up to 15 days should focus on networking activity relevant to the GREAT programme. The exchange visit can be timed to start no earlier than two months from the submission of the proposal. The result of the application evaluation will be made known to the proposers within one month of the proposal being submitted.

Full details as to the application procedure can be found on the
GREAT ESF Grants pages. In addition, the case document that you upload should also list the expected outcomes of the visit, mentioning leads into any future work which might arise as a result of the visit.

Please submit your application through the
'Short Visit' application point of the GREAT ESF pages.

Longer Term Exchange Visits: CURRENT CALL

These are to support exchange visits from 15 days to four months.

The eligibility criteria are the following:
  • To undertake work applicable to the GREAT programme
    • To apply for a stay in a European country other than the country of origin
    • To return to the institute of origin upon termination, so that the applicant's institution may also benefit from the broadened knowledge of the scientist
Priority will be given to applications where the institutions involved are in countries that financially support the programme.

Those supported through this call will be expected to acknowledge ESF support in publications resulting from the grantee's work in relation with the grant.

The ninth (and penultimate) call for long exchange visits is now open (deadline 13th June 2014)
