Talk Summary

More than a year on from discovering one of the most bizarre stars in the Kepler survey we are still unsure as to why Tabby's Star behaves the way it does. Dramatic changes in the light from this star has shown us there is something strange orbiting it. Could it be an alien megastructure as the headlines said? Astronomers are still unsure. In this talk we'll discuss how astronomers use data from Kepler to find exciting objects outside our solar system and how much we can learn just from the light of a star.
