Researchers at Institute of Astronomy are involved in a number of events for the Cambridge Science Festival this year.
Institute of Astronomy OPEN AFTERNOON
Saturday 24th March 2.30-6.30pm
The Institute of Astronomy opens its doors for the annual Open Afternoon.

Posters, displays, demonstrations and hands-on activities for everyone to learn more about Astronomy and the kind of research we do.

Talks in our lecture theatre, including a repeat of our popular extravaganza, Horrible Heavens! The petrifying planets

An exhibition Take me to your reader! of light-hearted astronomical literature, spoofs, skits, cartoons and jokes - all from the historical archives in our Library.

We'll have meteorites to examine and buy from Space Rocks UK

The Starlite cafe will provide tea and snacks, a welcome chance to rest your feet.

And if the weather is clear by the end of the day, we'll continue on into public observing from 7-9pm on the Observatory lawns.
