I am a research fellow at the Center for Astrophysics at Harvard University, having recently completed my PhD at the Institute of Astronomy in Cambridge. My research asks the question: where is the dark matter in galaxies? I attempt to answer this in a number of clever ways, but my favourite is using the phenomenon of strong gravitational lensing, which makes galaxies change from looking round to looking spectacular, as you can see above.
