The Institute of Astronomy, University of Cambridge located in West Cambridge, is looking to appoint a University Lecturer. The research profile of the Institute spans an extensive range of astrophysics, with internationally-recognized programs in exoplanet science, instrumentation, near field cosmology, stellar astrophysics, extragalactic astronomy, high-energy astrophysics, and cosmology. The Institute has close links with the Department of Physics (Cavendish Astrophysics) and the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, and jointly administers the Kavli Institute for Cosmology Cambridge (KICC) with these other Departments. We are seeking candidates from any field of astronomy that strengthens, or complements, the current research interests of the Institute. The successful applicant will have a PhD in Astronomy or a related field and a record of excellence in research, a commitment to teaching astronomy and astrophysics at advanced undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and a willingness to contribute to the future development of the Institute.

The position is available from 1 October 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment (comparable to the rank of Assistant Professor in the USA) will be permanent subject to a probationary period of five years.
