Abstract

I report the adverse effects that the Large Magellanic Cloud has on the Milky Way dynamics: deflection of stellar streams and satellite galaxies, disruption of the serene tranquility of the stellar halo, displacement of the Galaxy itself. I will then illustrate possible measures to restore the order in celestial spheres, and discuss how this star-crossed encounter could be used for an astronomer's benefit.
