The morphology of galaxies is set by their angular momentum distribution. In turn, filaments of the cosmic web drive the angular momentum acquisition of galaxies. The anisotropic environment set by the web can be used to revisit tidal torque theory near its saddle points. The corresponding constrained mis-alignment between the tidal tensor and the hessian of the density field simply explains the point-symmetric geometry of the angular momentum distribution within filaments. This Lagrangian theory allows us to relate the transition mass corresponding to the alignment of dark matter halos' spin to this geometry, and to predict accordingly its scaling with the mass of non linearity.
