Abstract

To what extent do planets disturb stellar evolution? We follow a set of planets from the capture phase, during which the interaction is purely tidal, to the spiraling infall rapid phase, during which the energy deposition happens via gravitational drag, to the destruction phase at which point the planet can pollute its star. To do so we use a set of tools developed or adapted or adopted by us, from a tidal code, to a 3d hydro simulation to 1d stellar structure calculation.
