Wednesday Public Open Evenings

Our 2018-19 observing season began on 3rd October 2018, and will run until 20 March 2019.

Click here to find out what's involved. A list of talks coming up during the 2018-19 season can be found here.

From 2018 onwards, our public talks are recorded and saved for streaming online. To watch any of this season's talks again, click here

For schools

We would be happy to arrange a visit for your school group -- either you can visit us here at the IoA, or we can arrange for a member of the outreach team to visit your school. We can offer a range of presentations and activities suituble for all key stages. If you think you might be interested, please get in touch!

For community groups (including brownies, cubs, etc.)

We are able to accept bookings for community groups to visit the Institute. The visit would consist of an age-appropriate astronomy talk, followed by either some stargazing (weather dependent!), or a tour of our antique telescopes. We are happy to accomodate earlier visits for younger groups of cubs or brownies.

For the Media

We can provide information about recent astronomical discoveries and upcoming observable events in the night sky for members of the media. Please contact a member of our outreach team for more information.
