Research

I am interested in the relationship between active galactic nuclei and their host galaxies. In particular, I investigate quasars through the emission and absorption (narrow and broad) lines in their spectra in order to better understand the link between the quasars themselves and the outflowing material, as well as their effect on the host galaxies.

Selected papers

BAL and non-BAL quasars: continuum, emission, and absorption properties establish a common parent sample; Amy L. Rankine, Paul C. Hewett, Manda Banerji,  Gordon T. Richards (2020, Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society)

Career

2017-present: PhD in Astronomy; supervisors: Professor Paul Hewett, Dr Manda Banerji

2012-2017: MPhys Astrophysics (University of St Andrews)
