Please be aware that you should allow 30 minutes to travel from the centre of Cambridge to the Institute which is located on the West Cambridge Site, bus is probably the easiest option:

There are two bus routes from the city centre that stop close to the Institute of Astronomy.

The Whippet U (Universal) (discounted fares for University Card holders) and the Stagecoach Citi 4 services both run down Madingley Road.

For the U service, alight at the William Gates Building stop at the entrance to JJ Thomson Avenue and cross Madingley Road to access Madingley Rise and the Institute of Astronomy.

For the Citi 4 service, alight at Bulstrode Gardens on Madingley Road and walk down Madingley Road to cross over at the junction with JJ Thomson Avenue. Then proceed up Madingley Rise to the Institute of Astronomy.

We are also a short walk from the Madingley Road Park and Ride.
