Institute of Astronomy


The Workshop will be held in the Sackler Lecture Theatre at the Institute of Astronomy (IoA) and the Kavli Institute for Cosmology Cambridge (KICC) in the University of Cambridge.  The IoA and KICC are located in West Cambridge.

The IoA is a 15-20 minute taxi journey from the railway station, and costs around £8-9 with Panther Taxis Ltd (01223 715715) and Camcab (01223 704704).

Bike hire

By far the easiest way to travel around Cambridge is by bicycle. There are numerous cycle rentals in the city, including Station Cycles located next to the railway station, and City Cycle Hire just to the west of the city centre. Prices are around £10 per day or £25 per week, plus a deposit of £40-60.

Bus travel within Cambridge

City4 and Uni4 provide services from Madingley Road/JJ Thompson Avenue to the city centre (Drummer Street and Silver Street/Trumpington Street respectively).  PDF of timetables and maps below.
