Gaia Science Alerts Working Group is an informal group of researchers willing to exploit the near-real-time alerts from the Gaia satellite. The group is closely linked with DPAC (Data Processing and Analysis Consortium) Photometry Unit (CU5), which is responsible for delivery of the alerts after the launch of the mission in 2012. The group is also immediately connected with the Science Alerts WG of GREAT network, supported by European Commission.
