A Guide to Cambridge
If you are looking for things to do if you arrive early, on the free afternoon on Wednesday, or in the evenings, this (by no means exhaustive) list might help:
Exploring the colleges: Ticketed entry: King’s (must-see chapel), St John’s; Free entry: Pembroke, Selwyn, Robinson, Darwin
Punting: Punt yourself (Trinity College Punting; public access: £24/hr per punt (fits up to 6 people)), Go on a guided punting tour (lots of companies; recommend Cambridge Chauffeur Punts: £24/hr per person)
Museums: Fitzwilliam Museum (Art & artefacts, free), Kettle’s Yard (modern art, free for under 25s), Whipple Museum of the History of Science (free), Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences (see the debris up close!, free)
Places to cool down: Jack’s Gelato (unique flavours; open until late!), Waterstones Bookshop & Cafe (a rare instance of air conditioning; laptop-friendly), Jesus Green Lido (if you’ve brought swimwear)
Strolls & Nature: through Jesus Green and along the river (towards Kerb Collective or further), Longer walk to Grantchester along Grantchester Meadows (try the scones at the Orchard Tea Garden), Cambridge University Botanical Gardens
Pubs to watch the Football: King Street Brewhouse (all games), Baron of Beef (all games), Byron’s Bear (only England games; terrace)

Independent Cafes: Pages Coffee, Flux Coffee, The Locker Cafe, Florey's
Dinner: Aromi (Italian), Pho Cambridge, Namaste Village (Indian), Honest Burgers, Thanh Binh (Vietnamese), many places on Mill Road (great food, but a little further out)
