    APM Bright Stellar Object files

    Selection Criteria

  • CLASS-1 and CLASS-2 VLA positions
  • APM stellar identification with m(R)<=18.0 and radio-optical positional difference =<2 arcsecs

    gives 431 objects.

  • Note there are some APM duplicates since some CLASS sources lie on more than 1 POSS plate. The plate information is in the data record so you can reconcile this. Also, quite a few have SNR's of 4. Maybe, a flux limit greater than 40mJy and SNR>=5 would be a better primary sample.
  • Also, I get the impression that the CLASS sample is devoid of bright sources so maybe, JVAS needs to be added in.
