I am a researcher and the educational outreach officer at the Cavendish Laboratory , (physics department) part of Cambridge University. For my research I used computer simulations to study the formation and evolution of galaxies, like the Milky Way. Anyone interested in looking at my work should follow this link. Lisa's Photo

I am a lecturer of 1st year Maths for Natural Scientists at the University of Cambridge and a lecturer and course director for the Institute of Continuing Education, Cambridge University. I am also a supervisor and teaching associate in mathematics for Queen's College, Cambridge and the outreach officer for the East Anglian branch of the Institute of Physics.

As part of my science communication work I enjoy giving public lectures and media interviews about my work and general astronomy. Any societies or groups who would like to hear me speak can browse the titles and some of the talks that I have previously given here. Between 2004 and December 2006 I also worked as the astronomy project researcher for a new Time & Space project at the National Maritime Museum and Royal Observatory Greenwich.

I studied at Trinity College, as an undergraduate in Natural Science and as a postgraduate in theoretical cosmology. The picture here shows The Great Court of Trinity College. The BBC have made a 360 panorama of Great Court - click on the photo to see it.

During my spare time enjoy conducting and playing with a variety of local brass bands.
