CQLOOK- CIRSI Quick Look Data Reduction Package,
Version 1.0.4
(Chan, McMahon and Hoenig)
CQLOOK and IRAF
CQLOOK is a package for producing
rough sky subtracted images from sets of dithered observations
during an observing run. While the
observations are in the infrared, the dominance of the variable sky
background in infrared data requires dithering of many short exposures
and the recombination of the images with careful sky subtraction to produce
deep images. It is written under IRAF
environment. Therefore. it is strongly recommended
to know the basic
of IRAF in order to use the package effectively. The following is the information:
Introduction
There are two active subpackages which are
CPREPROC
and CREDUCT,
as well as one temporary subpackage which is
CINT1 and one inactive subpackage which is
COBSOLETE.
- CPREPROC: Basic preprocessing in order to produce "real astronomical"
images.
- CNDRPROC -- perform the basic preprocessing and sky substraction
processing if the readout mode is NDR.

- CRRRPROC -- perform the basic preprocessing and sky substraction
processing if the readout mode is RRR.

- CASSQUAD -- assemble a set of 4n quadrant-images with size
512x512 into n chip-images with size 1024x1024.
- CMKCHIP -- assemble m sets of 4n quadrant-images
with size 512x512 into mxn chip-images with size 1024x1024.
- CHIPTRANS -- transpose the orientation of each chip to face north
(north - up: seen in Ximtool).
- CQTRANS -- transpose the orientation of each quadrant to face north
from a list of lists of object quadrant-images.

- CSTRIPE -- destriping the "uniform stripe" noise from a set of
adjacent pairs of RC-quadrant-images.
- CMKNDRIMG -- make adjacent pairs of NDR-RC-quadrant-images from a set
of NDR-quadrant-images with same run number. These adjacent pairs
of NDR-RC-quadrant-images are useful for users to decide
where is the saturation level.
- CMKIMG -- make NDR-RC-quadrant-images from a set NDR-quadrant-images
with same run number providing the upper and lower value of NDR number.
It also has an option to descripe the "stripe" noise.
- CMKRCIMG -- produce all NDR-RC-quadrant-images given from a set adjcent
pairs of RC images (output of CMKNDRIMG).
- CMKSLOPE -- make all the "combination" of NDR-RC-quadrant-images
from a list of lists adjacent pairs of
NDR-RC-quadrant-images within a NDR range in a given fold.
- CMKRRRCIMG -- make "real" images from a set of RRR-images which are
either reset corrected or non-reset corrected.
(Need data to test the non-reset corrected option)
- CREDUCT: Basic data reduction to produce "rough"
sky subtracted, dithering-mosaic, images.
- General basic data reduction (ONE set of quadrant-images, or
ONE set of chip-images)
- CMKDARK -- make a dark frame from a list of dark frames.
- CSUBDARK -- perform dark correction for a list of lists of given frames
- CMKOBJ -- make a combined object frame from a list of object frames
- CMKSKY -- make an infrared sky frame from a list of images.
- CSUBSKY -- subtract the sky badground from a list of images.
- CMKDNFLAT -- make a normalized flat frame from a list of dome flat
frames and a list of dome dark frames.
- CMKMSNFLAT -- make a normalized flat frame from a list of moving sky
frames.
- CFLATCOR -- perform flat fielding correction
- Basic data reduction : only for multi-quadrant-images (
(or multi-chip-images)
- CMKQDARK -- make a list of combined dark quadrant-images
(or chip-images) from a list of lists of dark quadrant-images
(or chip-images).
- CSUBQDARK -- perform dark correction for a list of lists of given
frames
- CMKQOBJ -- make a list of combined object frames from a list of lists of object frames.
- CMKQSKY -- make a list of sky quadrant-images (chip-images)
from a list of lists quadrant-images (chip-images)
- CSUBQSKY -- subtract the sky background from a list of lists of
object quadrant-images (or chip-images).
- CDOSSKY -- make sky images (quadrants or chips) and then
these sky images are subtracted from a list of lists of object
images (quadrants or chips).
- CMKQDNFLAT -- make a list of "normalized-flat" quadrant-frames (
(or chip-images) from a list of lists of dome flat quadrant-images
(or chip-images) and alist of lists of dome dark quadrant-images
(or chip-images).
- CMKQMSNFLAT -- make a list of "normalized-flat" quadrant-frames (
(or chip-images) from a list of lists of moving sky quadrant-images
(or chip-images).
- CQFLATCOR -- perform flat fielding correction for a list of lists
of quadrant-images (or chip-images).
- CINT1: Temporary tasks: just for the 1st INT run (Dec 97)
- CMKINT1IMAG -- rename a set of RRR-RC images into suitable names
and also make a list of lists of images in a particular loop number for
reduction purpose.
- CMKLLISTINT1 -- make a list of lists of images in a particular
loop number from a list of images with same run number.
- CMKQSKYINT1 -- make a list of sky quadrant-frames from a list of lists
quadrant-images (quadrant number = 1, 5, 9, 13).
- COBSOLETE: Not useful at this moment. May be useful sometime in the
future, or may never be useful.
WARNING: IT IS YOUR OWN RISK IF YOU USE THIS SUBPACKAGE!!
WARNING: YOU SHOULD DISCUSS WITH SJCHAN BEFORE USE THEM!!
- CIRSLICE -- slice a set of 3-D images into images of 2-D
images.
- CMKIMGALL -- make all the "combination "of
RC-quadrant-images from a set of NDR-quadrant-images with same run
number.
- COBSHEAD -- store all the essential information of
observation into the headers from the output of COBSINIT.
- COBSINIT -- enter the essential information of the observation
into a logfile of one night observation interactively.
- CMKPSKY -- make an infrared sky frame (projection case: 3-D to
2-D)
