The Institute of Astronomy welcomes applications from individuals for the Royal Astronomical Society Research Fellowship 2018 to be held at the Institute.

The RAS will award two RAS Research Fellowships in 2018, to begin on 1 October 2018 or within 6 months thereafter. Each fellowship provides post-doctoral funding for up to three years.

The RAS Research Fellowship is offered to outstanding candidates to enable them to pursue research in the UK in the disciplines advanced by the RAS i.e. astronomy, solar system science, geophysics and closely related branches of these sciences. Applicants must have been awarded their PhD between 1 October 2013 and 1 October 2018.

Requests for the Institute to act as a host should be accompanied by a completed application form, CV, research proposal, publication list and the name of a member of the Institute of Astronomy's Academic Staff with whom the applicant has research interests in common.

The RAS deadline is 20 October 2017 but materials should be sent to  fellowships@ast.cam.ac.uk by 13 October 2017 at the very latest.
