Galaxies are oriented at various viewing angles and located at different distances from us, large samples of fiber-fed spectra from sky surveys therefore contain spatial information about the galaxies. Careful sample selection in avoiding biases should allow us to re-construct statistically galaxy spectra in 3D. Here I present the inclination dependency in composite spectra of star-forming disk galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. I discuss what we learnt about extinction in the galaxies.
