My principal research interest is in the dynamical evolution of star clusters.
Star clusters are extra-galactic objects containing up to a million stars in an environment largely free of dark matter. These objects have been shown by both observation and simulation to be evolving dynamically over a time-scale comparable to the Hubble time. In addition, these objects show great susceptibility to external tidal fields from the local galactic environment - information that can be used to reconstruct the local potential around the star cluster.
I also retain an interest in near-field cosmology, in particular the local universe distribution of dark matter.
