Please find the initial announcement about the Unified Astronomy Thesaurus (UAT) at
http://ioppublishing.org/newsDetails/new-thesaurus-created-for-the-astronomy-community

Additional information on the UAT is also available at:
http://astrothesaurus.org/

In order to create a robust thesaurus that is truly representative of the research being conducted in the domain of astronomy, astronomers are needed that would be willing to assist in the UAT editorial process. Its expected that the workload should be light, but the expertise and advice of editors to aide in the decision-making process of developing the UAT further is needed.

If you are interested in participating in the project as editors, please contact

Christopher Erdmann at: cerdmann AT CFA.HARVARD.EDU.

Please also find this visual thesaurus tool, built using the D3 JavaScript library, meant to aide in browsing of the UAT:
