We opened the historic (Grade 2 listed) Cambridge Observatory building to the public on Friday the 7th of September from 4-6pm. Our 'Open Observatory' event was part of the wider Open Cambridge weekend where buildings normally closed to the public open up for visitors.
We received about 40 visitors in total, and judging from the responses we had, they enjoyed their vist. As well as the classical architecture of the Observatory building of 1823. Visitors could view the Northumberland telescope of 1838 and a display of old books from the Library.
