The Monitor Project

Welcome to the homepage of the Monitor Project. We are monitoring open clusters and star forming regions with large format CCD cameras on some of the world's leading astronomical telescopes. By studying how the brightnesses of tens of thousands of young stellar and sub-stellar objects vary with time - i.e. by measuring their lightcurves - we hope to discover young planets and brown dwarfs in orbit around these objects, as well as to measure their rotation periods.
