New results on gravitationally unstable disks and giant planet formation with both SPH and AMR simulationsWe present new results on the disk instability model for giant planet formation which concern three fundamental issues; (1) radiation physics - we will present the first 3D SPH simulations with radiative transfer; (2)long term integration - we will present the first calculations that integrate the orbit of the protoplanets for > 10000 years without using sink particles or restrictive boundary conditions; (3) code convergence - we will present the first exhaustive code comparison on disk instability involving 6 SPH and AMR codes.Last modified: Sun Jul 9 17:56:27 2006 |
