Resonances and Scattering in Planetary Systems

A substantial fraction of the observed multi-planet extrasolar planetary systems contain planets engaged in low order mean motion resonances. However, in their properties of resonant behaviour the individual systems vary substantially. In the contribution we show how the properties can be understood as the outcome of convergent migration and scattering events. We will present results on the systems GJ 876, HD 128311, and HD 73526.
