Institute of Astronomy

Logging In

In order to make any changes or access restricted content, you will need to log in to the Institute of Astronomy website.

In most cases, your username will be the same as on the IoA Science Cluster, however you will have a separate password.

To log in, click the IoA User Login link in the footer of any page.

Then on the login page that appears, enter your username and password and click Log In.

If you do not know your password

If you either do not know or have forgotten your password for the website, you may request a new one. Use the IoA User Login link in the footer to reach the login page, then click the Request new password tab.

You will be prompted for your username or e-mail address. Enter either your Institute of Astronomy username or @ast.cam.ac.uk e-mail address. You will then receive an e-mail (to your IoA e-mail address) containing a link which you can use to log in to the website.

When you are logged in

Whenever you are logged in to the website, you will see on the left hand side of each page (except the front page and a few others), your username and beneath it, a menu of functions applicable to your account.

The options that appear here depend on the permissions you have been granted on the website. Please contact Helpdesk (helpdesk@ast.cam.ac.uk) if you do not have access to a function you feel you should have.

When you have finished, select the Log out link from the menu beneath your username.
