High Resolution Infrared Imaging

Martin Beckett's PhD Thesis

My PhD was at the Institute of Astronomy and the Radio Astronomy department of the Cavendish laboratory. The work was to develop an infrared camera and a general infrared upgrade of the Cambridge Optical Aperture Synthesis Telescope COAST.

Apart from a minuscule amount of astronomy the thesis contains some background information on Infrared Detector Technology, the NICMOS infrared camera and building an astronomical interferometer telescope.

The thesis was originally written in word ( not a fun experience ) and converted to html with the Word Internet Assistant add-in.

A postscript copy formatted for A4 can be downloaded for each chapter.
